…and so do you.

We’re working on a new one.  Tell is what you think about it.  This was recorded thanks to Howler’s & their new awesome video setup.

So, comment… share, watch, watch again, leave it up on the screen when browsing the internet at a store or on someone else’s computer… all the fun stuff.

Fri. Aug. 3rd @ Howler’s: Empty Orchestra, Shores, & Ernie and the Berts!

Michigan invades Pittsburgh next Friday!  The showdown’s at one of our favorite spots in Bloomfield…

The Bands:

  • Empty Orchestra Facebook / Twitter / MySpace / ReverbNation
We are Empty Orchestra, and we are an American musical group from Flint, Michigan. Our songs are fistfights of traditions and generations and genres and tempos and hope and doubt and death and punchlines. Our roots are in punk rock and our ambitions are for song creation without boundaries. We are a community. We love making songs, we love playing songs, we love you. Thanks. This is fun.
  • ShoresFacebook / Twitter / Tumblr / ReverbNation
“Shores will pull you into a wintry, slowpaced haze and crescendos rising from the tinkling intros envelop you in a haunting, yet calming musical blanket. Shores make it all sound so effortless: subtle melodies twist their way around carved out guitar lines and prominent drums. It’s clean without being over-produced and offers dark and moody vibes, strung along by the constant promise of a climactic finale. Very much compelling, charming, subdued, delicate and mesmerising…” -Emily Kearns, rocksound.tv
  • Ernie and the Berts Facebook / Reverb Nation / MySpace / Twitter / Yahoo! Group / Google+
Sleazy Muppet Rock.  Hey Bert? You wanna play some rock and roll for the children? Bert?

Ernie needs your help – BAND NEEDED FOR FRIDAY THE 13TH!

OK, we tried to set up a show with some crazy/cool/fun/different bands, and those bands all eventually came back & said it was a unfortunately a bad night.

Musicians.  Ha ha.

In the future, we’ll set up some more shows with metal acts, punk acts, rock acts, ska acts, folk acts, blues acts, hardcore acts, & anyone who will play with us.  Sometimes it’s nice to have three totally different bands on the bill, you know?  (And let’s face it, we’re a weird yet awesome “fit” to any show.)

Right now, we need a 3rd band for Friday April 13th at Howler’s Coyote Cafe.  So far it’s us and the newly-formed yet already infamous Steel City Slingers on the bill.

The first 3 or 4 bands we thought of to fill the gap right away are already playing shows soon with the Steel City Slingers.  We don’t want to beat you to death with the same bands… and we don’t want you to not go to those shows too.  Go out & support all the locals!  Let’s mix it up!

Does your band have the chops?  Is your band willing to rock out with us?  Drop Ernie a line at ernie@ernieandtheberts.com or let us know in the comments below.

Not in a band?  Know a band that might rock?  Send this to them!

We’d like to get it nailed down so we can have flyers made & start pimping the bejeezus out of the show as usual.

FIRE!

Also, don’t forget to get your tickets for the Real McKenzies show in June (Get ’em from Ernie or one of the Berts, so you can win Ernie’s pants!) and that we’re playing an ALL AGES gig at the Smiling Moose on April 1st.

Hey, there are still more details!  This of from show organizer, Veronica:

The Punk Rock Sock Hop is a vintage dance party/punk show with live music and a dj playing 50’s & 60’s Rock. It started in State College July 8th & I’ve decided to have them seasonally, once in the spring / summer / fall. I have every intention of doing it in Pittsburgh seasonally and the November hop is the first one =) There is a 50’s costume contest so 50’s dress is encouraged — I can’t say it’s an authentic sock hop b/c we won’t be in a gym and we are going to keep our shoes on and the music is a little harder but the concept is there. The sock hop has some extra motives — aside from trying to show everyone a good time — I started the hop to try to raise funds for local non profits — I’m giving each band one share of the cover charge and one share to free ride pittsburgh:
