Saturday, Saturday, Saturday! (12/17/2011)

This weekend, we shall party with friends at one of our favorite hang-outs, The Fallout Shelter in Aliquippa PA.  Aliquippa isn’t too far from our home base in the ‘Burgh, so you should come out & join us.  Some are calling this a Christmas party.  Some are calling this Cliffy’s birthday party.  We’re calling it a damn good punk rock show.

The Fallout Shelter is a fun place to chill, get some cheap brews, some tasty food, hang out with friends, and make some new ones.  It’s quite cozy.

The Atomic Drops will do exactly that… sonically drop on you with the weight of an atomic bomb.  Boom!  You’ll wonder what happened.  You will have been rocked, that’s what.

Ernie and the Berts are always ready to show you that talent is not an obstacle to the meager success of a rock n’ roll band.  We’ll show you the secret if you promise to not behave.

The Scratch n’ Sniffs will come at you like a punk rock spider monkey, and make you beg for more.  With pure punk energy & style, they’ll make you tap your feet while checking to see if you still have your wallet.

Crisis in America might start a political rally, or rile us all to descend into anarchy or maybe even give us a solid plan to reform welfare.  You won’t even notice the knowledge being passed to you, as you’ll be too busy being rocked out by them.

A punk rock show to melt your face.

Insanity. Chaos. Deafening yet hooky melodies. Beer.  If these all seem like good things to you, you need to be at this show.  Add this to your Google calendar, Yahoo! Calendar, Facebook Events, or whatever you do with Google+ or AOL or MSN or Compuserve or Outlook or whatever you’re using.  Tweet about it.  Get a car full of idiots and find a non-idiot DD.

Ernie would like to remind you to drink responsibly, tip your bartender, buy some of the various bands’ merchandise, and to wash your hands before returning to work or play.

Get the flyer below tattooed on someone’s ass that you see frequently, so you don’t forget.

Videos, Contest , Kickstarter, T-Shirts, & more chaos…

A while ago we played at a crazy show in Sheffield Lanes, above the Fallout Shelter.  It was all ages, it was madness, it was beautiful.  This is some of what you missed:

  • “Toybox”:
  • A lot of screwing around, then “Ikea”:

Video by Ernie’s mom, Terrie Cobb.

This is just a sample of the awesomeness that you can get full-on by supporting our Kickstarter campaign, and at the same time wrangling yourself some cool stuff.

Also, you have about a day and a half left to enter the coloring contest to win yourself a new T-shirt & a bunch of other stuff!

Here are the 2 latest entries to the contest…

Sun.08/14 @ The Fallout Shelter – Ernie and the Berts/Hopeless Otis/The Awful Waffles – $5/21+/9:00pm

Beat the heat, not your meat!  Hang out in the cool relaxing not-humid soothing basement of Sheffield Lanes… a little place we like to call the Fallout Shelter.  Well, they called it that, so that’s why we call it that.  We didn’t name it.  Although, it is a pretty good name.  For some reason, they like us there, and keep letting us come back.  Randy just may be a little insane.  That’s OK, I think we are too.  At any rate, they have good drinks, some nice food from Ricky Dee’s upstairs, and a quaint little atmosphere.  Until we start playing that is.  When we start playing, you belong to us.  You can’t escape.  We’ll see you, and call you out if you try to leave.  We might even follow you.  The last thing you want is an Ernie or a Bert on your trail.  We might even have a new song or two.  Ernie’s been prolific and productive lately, and is whipping the Berts into shape.  Hopeless Otis is from New York City and they’ll show us how they do it up there.  The Awful Waffles will sing about Han Solo, and they might even have a keyboard.

Geurilla Showfare…

So,this Tuesday night, … that’s tomorrow, July 19th, 2011…  I think we’re playing at the Fallout Shelter with Vagora, Birds In Paintings Can’t Fly, and maybe even Children of October.  We’re certainly the odd men out… but when aren’t we?

We made nice-nice with Vagora many moons ago when we played what I think was our first “real” gig at the Fallout Shelter.  I’d maybe call Vagora horrorpunk, but they call themselves “melodic pop punk/post rock/alternative/grunge/post-hardcore/shoegaze”. Welcome to the “it’s really hard to classify our band” club.  Ha ha.  They have a cool spooky sound, some Johnny Cash-like black clothes, and they’re all really friggin’ nice dudes.

I (Bert… or the other Bert) pretty much dropped off the planet this past week, so I’m piecing together what I’ve been fed…

Ernie has been in contact with Vagora, and our presence has been requested.

This is what it says on the Fallout Shelter website…

TUESDAY, JULY 19

• $5 – Doors at 8:30 – Show at 9PM
• 21+ – The Fallout Shelter
• VAGORA
• Birds in Paintings Can’t Fly
• Children of October

Not sure if we’re all playing, or if CoO had to bail, or what… but good bet that the show time is 9:00pm, we play early, and the two Rhode Island bands will be in house… and that it’s a 21+ show.

You should come out to this and have a good time, even though it’s a “school night”.  Hey, it’s summer, right?

Also, don’t forget… Friday Night at the BBT with The Awful Waffles & Uke and Tuba!
