We’ll be rocking with the shockingly scandalous Steel City Slingers and whoever’s brave enough to step up to the plate! Here are the details so far, with an incredible flyer by the Slingers’ own Zach.
You’ve heard their songs. You knowLocksley even if you don’t know it. They’re the next big thing, and you have the chance to see them now! Ernie and one of the Berts saw them open for Fountains of Wayne in Philadelphia, and they dug it so much that Ernie decided to set up a show to bring these guys to the ‘Burgh!
Locksley performed “Don’t Make Me Wait”, “Let Me Know” and “She Does” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! March 2, 2007. They performed “Let Me Know” on Late Night With Conan O’Brien on August 13, 2007. MTV made Locksley their “Featured Artist of the Week” for two weeks straight on September 8–22, 2008.
After the release of Don’t Make Me Wait, Locksley were featured in multiple magazine spreads, notably SPIN Magazine’s “Breaking Out”, Rolling Stone‘s “6 Breakout Bands to Watch”, Alternative Press‘s “100 Bands You Need To Know” and in ELLE Magazine with an 8 page fashion spread in their March 2007 issue.
On August 24, 2008, “All Over Again,” “Don’t Make Me Wait,” and “She Does” were made available as downloadable content for the popular Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game series Rock Band. The songs have been downloaded over 60,000 times to date. Locksley credits licenses with keeping the band going.[3]
Locksley wrote the song “Slink (A Hymn)” for use as the theme song to FOX’s TV show The Good Guys.
The ECHL hockey team the Toledo Walleye plays the chorus of “The Whip” whenever the team scores a goal at home.
You can buy your tickets now to make sure you get them in your music-loving hands in time for the show. You can also buy at the door. Really though… It’s 2011. Try buying something online. It’s quick. Convenient. Easy.

That IS The Whip in the Puss and Boots trailer. Sheath your swords critics; relax those scowls cynics. Locksley, fun for the whole family!— Locksley (@LocksleyMusic) October 24, 2011
Well, unfortunately Disgust in Disguise had to drop out, so here’s your new lineup along with a sweet new flyer from Sarah who’s organizing the show:

Howdy, friends! One week from tonight we’re going to require your attendance at the P!$$ ON CANCER benefit show. It’s not only an ALL AGES show, it’s packed full of bands from a potpourri of musical genres, and your money is going to help pay some medical bills of a currently anonymous benefactor. Obviously we’re all about such things. This is why your attendance is not requested, my friends… it’s required.
We need a name for the fans. The Misfits have Fiends, the Grateful Dead have Dead Heads, what should we call you people? Ernienians? Bertians? Pigeons? Bottle Caps? Rubber Ducks? Duckies? The Unibrows?
We have a show coming up that you ought to make an extra effort to attend. We don’t do many all ages gigs, so this may be your only chance for a while.
A friend of Bert’s has set up the show, and it looks to be (the good kind of) chaos. Disgust in Disguise are a bunch of cool cats and it looks like there’s a really diverse set of musical genres happening, as well as a silent auction and some food & drink specials.
We’re asking you to come out, support a good cause, listen to some music, eat, drink, & be merry. Please don’t literally pee on anything or anyone. (This means you, Brad.)
Here are the details in case you missed ‘em!

GOOSKI’S. That’s all I need to say. Come early, stay late. Rock out with some cheap beers, tasty wings & pierogies. We all need a night of debauchery in Polish Hill every once in a while. That’s what your favorite local rock n’ roll bands are for! What Else? channels some glam, Ernie and the Berts will make you feel scuzzy & fuzzy, and the Dirty Charms just may make you need to take a shower.
OK, so the show for the 28th was cancelled, but we’re on for the 27th… at Gooski’s with the Dirty Charms & What Else. More details coming ASAP… but mark your calendars now, kids!
Also… Get your submissions in for the coloring contest! Submit early, submit often! We’ve heard a few people say they’re going to enter… but we don’t have any entries in our digital hands yet. Let’s get crackin’!
